Free HIV Testing
MVAP offers FREE HIV testing at our locations!
Knowing your HIV status is an important step in taking care of your health. MVAP offers free, confidential HIV testing in a way that works for you. You do not need insurance, and you do not need to already be a client of MVAP to get tested.
Your Testing Options
We offer two easy ways to get tested:
In-Person HIV Testing
An MVAP staff member can provide the HIV test for you in a private, supportive setting. We will explain the process, answer your questions, and review next steps with you.
At-Home HIV Testing
Prefer to test on your own? We can provide a free at-home HIV test that you can complete privately, on your own time. Instructions are included, and support is available if you have questions.
What Happens After the Test?
No matter your result, you are not alone.
- If your test is negative: We can help you access prevention options like PrEP, condoms, and harm-reduction supplies to help you stay HIV-negative.
- If your test is positive: MVAP will help you get connected to HIV medical care right away. We can support you with next steps, insurance or NH CARE enrollment, and ongoing services.
Who Should Get Tested?
The CDC recommends that everyone ages 13 to 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care. People with certain risk factors should get tested more often.
